United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 488

Local 488 is North America’s largest pipe trades union local. We represent steamfitter/pipefitters, plumbers, welders, sprinkler fitters and refrigeration mechanics, as well as several other specialty trades.

In recent years, demand from our employers for skilled people has seen historic highs. There is plenty of steady work in Edmonton and Alberta for skilled, qualified Journeymen who are willing to deliver a good day’s work for a great day’s pay.

Local 488 represents quality journeypersons in the piping trades in Alberta, providing opportunity to skilled workers with benefits and benevolence in Alberta for over 100 years.
