Can I afford to live comfortably in Edmonton?

With high wages and low taxes, Edmonton is the place of choice for individuals and businesses:

• People in Edmonton can afford to own their own home earlier in life than in other major cities in Canada – earlier than people living in Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver. (Canadian Mortgage and Housing – January 2007)

• Thanks to a per capita income higher than the national average (even higher than Toronto) people living in Edmonton can afford the little extras life has to offer. (Personal Disposable Income, Conference Board of Canada – Winter 2007)

• Coupled with one of the highest per capita incomes, comes the lowest personal tax burden in Canada. Low municipal property taxes and no provincial sales tax, means a dollar in Edmonton goes further, giving Edmontonians more money to play with.
