What is the Edmonton Stories budget?

2010

The 2010 budget for edmontonstories totals $780,000.* This year’s program focuses on using the site and its materials for specific outreach related to attraction efforts. Expenses relate to the cost of earned media and online and social marketing. While some ongoing website maintenance, story content collection and site advertising is required, the 2010 focus of effort and expense relates to applications of the information and integration with other campaign efforts.

Campaign development: $85,000
Website maintenance and evolution: $80,000
A local 4-person content team (salaries, office space, equipment, administration): $345,000
Videography (Equipment, videographer, editor, audio engineer): $30,000
Social marketing and online media buy: $238,000

2009

City Council approved a 2009 budget of one million dollars with EEDC Destination Marketing and Tourism contributing an additional $400,000.* This amount of money does not cover much in terms of traditional advertising, so our approach focuses on earned media and online and social marketing.

Campaign development: $199,000
Website: $137,500
A local 5-person content team (salaries, office space, equipment, administration): $420,000
Videography (Equipment, videographer, editor, audio engineer): $278,000
Social marketing and online media buy: $268,500
Launch related traditional advertising and promotion: $65,000
