Where can I snowboard and ski?

Edmonton offers several places to practice your skiing and boarding skills. Rabbit Hill Snow Resort, Snow Valley, Sunridge Ski Area, and the Edmonton Ski Club are all either in or just outside the city and have some fun hills.

If you’d like to ski or board in the mountains, the Rockies are a few hours’ drive away. There are even companies who specialize in busing people to the mountains and back in one day. Or you can make a trip out of it and hop on the train in Edmonton and watch the prairies and mountains pass by until you’re in Jasper a few hours later. Of course, if you have your own car, you and your friends can always pile in and drive down for the weekend.

If you’d like to cross-country ski, Edmonton is a great place for that. Our river valley is huge and offers many parks for skiing. Some are also lit at night.

Whether you ski or snowboard, we offer many options to suit everyone.

I grew out of one of Edmonton’s lush ravines, a quiet place. A place that cultivated my roots at my most absorbent phase of life. A place, much like the rest of Edmonton, that is sensitive to the changing seasons.
