A Soul Awakening in Edmonton
By Judy Wollman
Hi! My name is Judy and I was born in Edmonton. I was put up for adoption at 13 months. I was eventually adopted and was taken to a rural town, north of Edmonton. My childhood was filled with terror! I was always in fear of the next beating.
Needless to say, I ran away several times. The last time I ran to Edmonton and spent 3 years on the streets. Many people want the prostitutes off their streets and I absolutely understand that. However, for some of us there wasn't any choice. Many people assisted me along the way, including the police, believe it or not. They were dedicated and cared and tried to help as much as possible.
A profound moment happened that got me off the streets: my neighbor offered to give me some "light". I was very skeptical, yet her place was filled with joyous, beautiful, spiritual energy, and I wanted to experience more. She put her hand to my lower back and stated that I was pregnant. I assured her that this was not true because it would be impossible. I could feel this heat and pressure on the spot where she was giving me light, yet her hand was in the air!
Well as it turned out, I was pregnant! My son was born in Edmonton in 1988. This little known organization in north Edmonton, called Sukyo Mahikari, helped to turn my life completely around. Carmen, my neighbor, would say, "As you receive divine light daily, large problems will become small and small will disappear completely. Always remember that whatever you actually experience is what you believe." Well, let me tell you, I was a skeptic, but only for a moment, because right from the beginning miracles were happening! I stopped hating myself and I started wanting to help others. I went to University and I moved into management.
At 8 months pregnant, I was lying down and Carmen was giving my belly light from the left side. She hadn't touched me, she just radiated light. Immediately, Brydon, my son, moved in my belly and pushed up against the side that the light was being directed to. We looked at each other in amazement! She then whispered, "Let's try something!" She tip-toed to the other side of my body and started giving light to that side of my belly ... instantly Brydon rolled over and started pushing up against that side! We both were in awe!! Over the course of the next few years many miracles happened, and I learned how to put into actual practice the natural principles of the universe.
My son grew up in Edmonton. He went through the years when bullying got so bad that he became almost suicidal. It was difficult to find anyone who knew how to handle bullying. So I home-schooled him for 2 years—thank you Argyll Centre for your great support when we needed it! He eventually went to Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts and instantly had many friends that were just like him. Thank you Victoria School for supporting children in pursuing their artistic dreams without the fear of reprisal!
I now work for the City of Edmonton as a Team Lead and my husband works as a relief dispatcher for Edmonton Transit. Both of us have watched our son grow up in a beautiful city that comes together to celebrate in good times and a city that knows how to unite in strength for the tough times. This is the cycle of life, the ups and downs.
Currently, with the news that my husband has terminal cancer, we are definitely experiencing the great movement of that wave. However, we know the principles of the universe and already his cancer has inspired others and created miracles for them. We know everything happens for a reason and that everything is the beginning of something good - even if we can't see it yet!
Thank you Edmonton for your support and for allowing my spirit to not only awaken, but to thrive and prosper!! I could never imagine living anywhere else but Edmonton!
