A Year or Two

My husband and I thought we’d be here for a year or two. That was fifteen years ago. From a parenting perspective I think it’s been easier to raise children here, and have a career at the same time, than it might be in a larger city. There are all kinds of facilities that are available for sports and dance. It’s been really great to be a parent here.

My kids are both ready to go to university. They don’t necessarily feel they have to leave. I grew up in Saskatchewan and I kind of had to go, “Well, I’ve got to go now and seek my career in the theatre.” But this is different. There’s a lot of potential here for young people.
