Dinosaurs!

When the City of Edmonton started digging a sewer tunnel in the Quesnell Heights neighbourhood, it was a pretty standard operation. Ryley Paul and Aaron Krywiak, 2 members of the drainage crew assigned to the tunnel, were jackhammering away when they noticed some curious rocks.

Wait…is that a tooth?!

Turns out that, nearly 30 metres underground, they had stumbled onto a cache of bones – dinosaur bones! Edmontosaurus and Albertosaurus to be exact. Suddenly, they were living every little kid’s dinosaur dream.

Meet Aaron and Ryley in the video below and hear them and the palaeontologists talk about how exciting it is to unearth 70-million-year-old bones.
