Ed-Ventures
By Sheila Edmonds
My first experiences in Alberta's Capital City felt like a resort holiday. A wise young Edmontonian knew his territory well and took me to see the River Valley by car and motorcycle, along beautiful vistas overlooking the water, past elegant historic homes near the Museum and along Ada Boulevard, and into city parklands old and new. We watched a horse show from a grass berm at Whitemud Equine Centre, swam in the Mill Creek outdoor pool, listened to a music festival, and walked by the river at sunset.
It wasn't hard to convince me to move here and raise a family with him. A generation later, we still delight in the timeless activities of walking and riding in the valley, watching sunrise and sunset in the big blue Alberta sky, and exploring the endless array of activities and amenities of Edmonton - a Big City with Soul because the Country's in its Heart.
