Summer at the Alberta Legislature

Edmontonians know how to embrace the city’s long, warm summer days - they head to the cooling waters of the pools and fountains at Edmonton’s Alberta Legislature Grounds. The grounds are made up of 23 hectares of parkland, historical monuments, gardens, and – of course – fountains and wading pools.

In the “Summer at the Alberta Legislature” video, meet Jesse and Taylor and their mom Kara. The family met up with Dad in downtown Edmonton for lunch before heading to the pools for a little splash in the wading pool.

Arlene from the Legislature Visitor Services tells us how the large pool, originally designed as just a reflecting pool, quickly became a public wading pool in the summer.
