Home Is Where The Heart Is

By David McNair

I have lived in Edmonton for just under 10 years now. When I first moved here I was 18 years old with aspirations of doing something "big" and living somewhere "bigger.” It was supposed to be a temporary address, a stepping stone on my way to plunging into a life of travel, adventure and excitement. What it turned out to be was home.

I think about all the places that I have been and all the amazing things that I have seen over the last 10 years and I realize how much I have grown. The funny thing is that, the "little stepping stone" that was Edmonton has also grown along beside me. Whenever I'm gone, as much as I enjoy seeing the world, I always stop to think about how small I really am and how much “bigger” I feel when I think about home...Edmonton.
