Leaving Edmonton

By Judy Chubbs

Several years ago on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, my husband and I left our home on the East Coast of Canada to drive to Edmonton for work. I am sure we didn't pay much attention to the piles of snow at home as we left, but we were reminded of it when we arrived in Edmonton. We were very excited that there was absolutely no snow.

We really loved Edmonton and made it our home for 4 years. It was the perfect place to be for a young couple. The work was plentiful, shopping was terrific, nightlife was exciting and so were the Edmonton Oilers. Winters were cold but not too long; summers were long and very beautiful. I have always regretted leaving Edmonton – I still miss it. It is truly a great city!
